Our Story

Curtains Up Productions

We are a volunteer-based charitable organization located in Niagara Ontario.  Our cast and crew of thirty plus members have raised more than $200,000 for various local charities over the years. Our tickets are  $35.00 for dinner and a show $10 of which goes back to support the community.

Our Purpose

This fun-loving theatre group aims to lift your spirit, fill your belly, (with a four-course meal) and give support to our local charities.

How it all Began

In the late 90’s Ina Grafton retirement home was in need of a bath lift. Henry Goerzen, Pastoral Care Director, suggested that the choir, and other musical friends, use their talents to help pay for the lift. They successfully put together variety show, the lift was purchased and the rest, as they say, is history.
It was such a fun experience the group continued performing, using the money raised to benefit the local community. For a while they took the show on the road but moving the heavy equipment became problematic and soon a permanent home was needed.
When a fellow tennis enthusiast told Henry about the church dinners they served at St. Ann’s Hall, he came up with the idea of working together with the church and the Curtains Up Dinner Theatre was born.
